At the end of another thread I posted a picture of a conical polishing mop, like this one. I bought them because I wanted to find a way to really polish up the inside to the exhaust tailpipes. They were looking a bit grubby.... As can be seen the polished stainless goes back into the pipe, there is no perforated metal section to paint black. The polishing mop fits in to the chuck of a cordless drill, together with Autosol and a small amount of effort I set to on the inside of the pipes. SHMBO consider me to have totally lost the plot, so took a photograph... The result was very satisfactory, although I had to polish the outside in the conventional way.

Hahahaha!
I confess to polishing my pipes too - although not with power tools.

So Peter you have finally outed yourself, as an OCD’er. I presume the next step will be a light weight car cover in case caught out in inclement weather. By the way are you getting into practice for next years concours?

Hi Peter
Don't forget to change the air in your tyres so it doesn't smell stale, back when I was on the shop floor I had a customer ask for that once......

By the way are you getting into practice for next years concours? I like things mechanical to look nice, clean and things that should be polished, polished! So yes, a bit OCD. The Plus 8 gives me more opportunity and encouragement! The Mercedes cars don't get this sort of attention!! Err...I already have the car cover.... And as to entering a concours, well...

If he took them off then he might get rid of that annoying rattle.
