I want to replace ignition switch/steering lock on my 1999 4/4 is the switch a Land Rover Part as my local dealer wants mega bucks for Morgan part

It may be Landrover or possibly MGB. See if you can find a part number on it.

Do you have an immobiliser? If so its probably Land Rover. Whats wrong with original one?

Depends which switch, My 1972 4/4 has a Neimann which has the actual switch independent of the key barrel. This means that you can replace the switch assembly whilst still retaining the original key.
The switch assembly is readily found at jumbles, its from an MGB, BL Mini Mk3 and various Vauxhall/Bedfords

What did you lube it with? Not oil I hope? Locks need graphite powder.

You may had to drill out the bolts as the head sheers off at the right torque for "security" reasons. If this is the case you may wish to replace with normal bolts.
