Hi Shakey2 I've used B&C since they became a Morgan dealer and found them great to deal with. Richard is extremely helpful and straightforward and I'm sure they'll look after you. If you're there in the morning I look forward to meeting you - Mark H and myself will be turning up in M3Ws around 10 ish. I'm sure a few other TM'ers will be around as well

The Aero chassis car will be a delight. That car looks great as well.
There should not be an issue with the power dominating the experience as the Aero chassis is a generation forwards and can cope with it. Wet roundabouts might be the exception to this of course and there is a doozy up the road on the test drive they typically choose. Initially the steering wheel can feel a little bit treacle but you adjust very quickly.
The autobox when left in normal mode is quite relaxed. Do the first part of the drive in normal staying below 3500 rpm then have a go in sport and use the 4000-6500 range and see the two sides of it. The big lazy torque at low revs makes it great to have a quiet drive as well as belting along like a stabbed rat when the mood and roads permit. When flipped to sport the autobox becomes more fruity and you can press on. Wheel paddles and the gear lever tip-mode allow you to take control and this is actually quite pleasant.
The B&C car does appear to have standard exhausts in the pictures. Sport with rear exits like Peters gives it a good blare or the dual side exhausts rock parked cars and vex neighbours early in the morning when you go for a blat. Do hear them both if you should make a change as they have very defined differences! Subtle and Hoodlum spring to mind.
Aero's are quite a step forwards and make the cars quite a bit more practical to use. The ride is generally better as well as the grip/balance/handling so you can do the miles with less concern.
Don't forget two things. 1.Breath, don't forget to breath. 2. Haggle! You will buy it but don't let the volume 11 experience overload sensibility.

Red Leader and Alistair
Thanks for your comments and we should be there around 10.30 from Monmouth and it will be great to say hello to both of you. Mrs Shakey might request a show around your M3W because she really loves them so I hope that's okay.
Thanks for your observations Alistair and it does all sound good. Yes, I'm afraid my wallet might come out very quickly but I will try some self control! Richard is certainly attentive and very easy to talk to which really helps the process.
Again, thanks for everyone's interest and I will post an update - fingers crossed!

Peter, They have two so there's a choice and it depends how generous Mrs Shakey is tomorrow! I will let you have some pictures - and as to price they have suggested not a bad deal on my car so we will have to see how flexible they are going to be. Thanks again.

Remember keep your powder dry, within that price bracket customers are not queuing up. When i brought my first aero i got a deal that took 2 weeks to agree. I did the same with my 911 earlier this year. Start with a cheeky offer if you decide you want it.

Martin is right.
If it is any help tell Mrs Shakey that my good lady actually loved it so much that she actually put 25% of the stake up. Twice. It would seem a Mog is not seen as a "boy toy" in the same way a Ferrari or Lambo is.
Just go a bit slower to avoid wrecking any given hair-do during the test drive.

Hi Shakey
We have an Aero +8 and would totally agree with Peters comments. Previously we had a 1992 3.9 +8 the Aero is in a totally different league. We absolutely love the car, in auto mode it can be either a very relaxed tourer but in sport or paddle shift it's awesome. Hope your test drive goes well. Look forward to hearing how you get on.

I have an Aero +8 and love it.... I previously had the 3.7 Roadster which was a completely different car.
I can't add too much to Peter's comments. It's a very usable car, turn the key and go, reliable and quick. Handling is is in a different league to traditional Morgans, it feels like a sports car, planted on the road and unsettled by bumps along the way. The build quality is excellent - I can't fault it. I have yet to do a run into the continent with mine, but I'm looking forward to doing so at some point.
As above, it's a breeze to drive on auto - you drive on the torque, low level grunt, top down.... lovely! Switch into manual and it's a hooligans car.
I bought mine from B&C who are great to deal with.
If you buy this car (and I hope you do, I've seen it, it's fabulous) please get a sump guard fitted!! I've had some low sports cars (Murcielgo, Ford GT etc) and the 8 is the lowest of the lot... the sump is extremely vulnerable and hitting it would be catastrophic for the engine. Wolf Performance make one and I would estimate this part has saved my sump half a dozen times already.

The blue on with red leather is a bit normal. Ref leather is a bit common.... I'd take the pearl cream one, with orange leather any day. In fact, if you don't buy it and I win the lottery tonight I may well go up there on Monday....
