Have just returned from a Jockmog weekend and two things happened.
1. The windscreen washer motor burnt out - new one ordered online
2. A new warning light appeared which I have not seen before! It looks like a snow flake and is the second light in from the right on the dash. It is not mentioned in the handbook and I really do not know what it is. My OBD reader fails to find it and switch it off. On further investigation the light goes on and off when the heater fan is switched on and off. It has never come on before but is the car actually doing something it should be doing, ie a warning light to show the heater is on! Anybody else come across this one or know what it is? I am perplexed. I am not having a good run of luck recently!

The snowflake light on my dads 2007 MK1 roadster is to show that the air conditioning light to show it’s on. There is a switch in the heater for air con.

It is aircon. Could be the PCB needs drying out or worse is failing with an associated £500 bill

Or just that it's been switched on... :-) on my plus 4 the switch still works to switch on and off the snowflake light even though I have no aircon

This is absolutely nothing to worry about. There is a spare push button on the dash which is used for air con IF air con has been fitted. If not, the button does nothing except to allow the snowflake to appear in sympathy with the heater fan control. I find it quite useful in that mode but if you don’t like it simply give that spare button a push.
You have probably pressed the button by accident which is why you have only now noticed.

Deejay, well done you have cracked it, and I even remembered pushing the dam button. I will be able to sleep tonight, not worrying what has gone wrong now, and how to fix it! The shared knowledge on this forum is great, but how did you find this out?

Same happened on my 4/4 sport - in winter I sometimes use it to remind me that the fan is on.

I use it to let me know if the aircon is on. grin2

Yes, I do have aircon and very useful it is too. We even put the hood up if it really gets too hot.
