Many, many thanks Simon, useful information.
I suspected that much of the S4 was BMW as the power steering fluid reservoir is exactly the same as the one on the 330SC my son had!

Prity sure my 2012 plus 8 has a electric pump under the passenger wing as it had to be replaced under warranty.

Prity sure my 2012 plus 8 has a electric pump under the passenger wing as it had to be replaced under warranty. It might well do As with most things Morgan there's no hard and fast changeover dates And in all honesty my major experience is with the early cars and when we raced the Aero in British Gt's and Britcar, I threw away or heavily modified much of the OE equipment to make the car reliable (and faster) Simon @ SiFab.co.uk

I have a vague recollection that my Series 2 had a failure not long into my ownership and the dealer replaced it with a Mini electric pump to drive the existing hydraulics and rack. This was mounted in the inner wing ?
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Simon, what about the GTN's? S1.5? S2? The GTN's are the last of the S1's. although 1 was built with a wide body that was subsequently adopted as the S2 body As far as I know, all the GTN's were fitted with the original Honda/Rover pump. Your's certainly is/still is. Simon @ SiFab.co.uk

Thanks for clarifying Simon, having never having had a detailed look on the steering I could only go on what RT said when I spoke to them previously.. the fact that it stays hydraulic is a big bonus.
So to clarify is the mod on the Series 1 using a Mini pump the same as the BMW pump being used on the Series 2 onwards?
Thanks, Nick

Kind of...on S2/3 Different rack, different plumbing, different wiring But yes, just the same..... S4 onwards is (I believe) using the engine driven pump not electro-hydraulic The MINI pump is no longer available new (although I do have a limited supply), there are also a couple of generations of the MINI pump and you need the right one, also a couple of the plumbing connections are unique Simon @ SiFab.co.uk
