I just completed the addition of mesh pockets on each side panel. I used 1" x 1/16" aluminum strip as a backer and pop-riveted it through the coco mat side panels using 1/8" rivets and backup washers. I then used heavy duty velcro to attach it to the side body panels and to keep the aluminum backers away from the body sides just a bit. Seems to stick in fairly well, and the frame tubes also help hold the edges. We'll see how they actually work in practice, but should hold a phone or papers OK. Mesh pockets have a plastic frame that needs to be "stretched" across the top to make it square.  Back of panel with aluminum strips and backer riveted on.  Velcro installed:  Complete and ready to install.  In the car:

Hi Truckin-on, how did you fix the side panels on?, mine has some sort of sealing material on them, nothing seems to stick to them. I'm trying "heavy-duty" velcro, as I want to be able to remove them. We'll see how it works... at the moment, they are just wedged in there and seem to stay put just fine. When I ge around to put the mesh pockets on, I'll use some light aluminum strips as backers to hold the pockets to the mats, and I'll attached the velcro to them, then onto the sides. I used 6 heavy duty velcro dots which are 2 inch diameter. I have a ply backing on the rear of my side panels and the velcro has held fine after 500 miles, haven't come loose at all.

The passenger side storage is a nice idea but the driver side will surely make it tight or rub on your leg...its a very tight area. I have the factory side storages & I barely use them. I use the harley davidson storage bag on a daily bases & it's very useful & stores a lot. Its fits under the dash board on the passenger side & out of the way

The clutch operation, if you have wide shoes, may turn out to be a problem. Had it out for a long ride on Saturday though and didn't have an issue yet, but the jury is still out.
