Interesting I have a factory hard top. It doesn’t leak but can see daylight around the rear edge both sides.

No gap under the easy up but Bumble had corner gaps with the studded hood. It never leaked there though.

I've had MGB GT's Midgets from 1966 and 1968 don't remember any leaks however most of the time the midgets had the Tonneau cover on through rain and snow, but I was in my 20's

No. Across the middle is fine. My luggage rack fits to the spare wheel so I don't have your problem. Where you see daylight is under the corners where the rail curves around.

Mines the same Peter. Luckily I’ve had no leaks there. I just accept it as part of the air extraction system!

My first brand new car and my first convertible at the same time was in 1995 a MGF. TBH I was so proud but also TBH two years and about 20 repair sessions later it was obviously the wrong decision. A MX5 at that time would have been the far better choice but the MGF was more rare and exotic over here which I liked.

Talking reliability every older MGB would have been the better choice. Talking leakages the MGF cured me for the rest of my life to have any further expectations concerning a convertible. Therefore being on my fifth Mog I cannot complain at all. In my view all 5 Mogs were way better than this at her time brand new developed MGF.
I don‘t plan to drive my Mog on a rainy day. But if it rains underway I like this cozy feel like being 16 years old sleeping in a tend and listening to the drops of water. In fact my wife and I had the most atmospheric moments driving in the rain the 4/4 and the Mogs before.
For me my 4/4 with the easy up is very good sealed. Some drops or even more when driving through torrential rain are part of the good atmosphere.

Regarding the MGF the garage tried to fix the angle of the side windows for uncountless times with no success at all, she was always leaking and at that time I had no garage and the most of the water ingress happened when parking over night with the resuld of totally wet seats the other morning.

Other experiences with convertibles are only positive. My 2002 Honda S 2000 was dry like a tin top the three years I owned her. In 2007 I purchased a new Elise which I drive until now with plenty of joy. The built quality is astonishing superb and no drop of water at all comes in. And due to lack of even more garage space the Elise stays outside but well protected because she is sensibel but robust. This way I drive her at least once a week.

There must still be a following for MGF’s. There’s a specialist on the A1 somewhere between Stamford and Grantham who appears to have cornered the market!

I'm going to stick my head above the parapet now. I have owned Midgets, B's, TR6's and a Lotus Elan. I have often driven an MX5 and Audi TT. Our Roadster is our fourth Morgan and I like it because it is beautiful. I am not reliving a lost youth although the cars and the earlier years are bound up together. Simply put, the Morgan gives me a lot of driving pleasure and I love to see other ones.
I gave a stranger a lift recently and he told me afterwards that all the negative things that he had heard about Morgans were obviously untrue - he loved it too.
