Hi chaps, had £400 worth of rust respray world done on my 1996 4/4 in March. I jokingly said to one of the workers who did it "HOW LONG WILL IT BE BEFORE THE RUST REAPPEARS...HE SAID 6 MONTHS, I THOUGHT HE WAS JOKING ASWELL...HE WANSN'T.Is this something I will have to do every year on a morgan this old. I like to keep it looking nice but. Work was done locally to me by a garage that have classic restor...leading edge of front wings seem worst and this is where it is going again. Any thoughts.. Pmh44

Good God that sounds shocking . 1996 is far from old in Morgan terms . Was the rust light or heavy in the wing also is there anymore rust anywhere on the mog .

Most likely the rolled and wired edges of the steel guards are a trap for corrosion that once started is very difficult to eliminate. Perhaps you need to change to superform aluminium guards

What did the paint shop actually do for the 400 quid? Once rust has got a hold is got to be treated somehow either chemically or mechanically.
Nothing to do with the rolled and wired edges, I'm just in the middle of preparing for paint a pair of circa 1985 steel wings which were fitted to a car parked up in a leaky shed since 1993 and they are perfect, no corrosion anywhere. Wired edges and seams still as good as the day they left Eva Bros!
