Sorry to hear about this Shaun.
You don't have to be a masochist to own an M3W but it certainly helps.
I hope you are soon back on the road with no further problems.

This is just incredible.... Car now on it’s on way back to dealer. Wow, think this must be a record even for Morgan. Car driven away from dealer at 4.00 pm, stops running at 5.30 pm and on way back to dealer on back of breakdown truck at 8.00 pm the same day!
Of course, my wife, who thought I was nuts getting a second M3W after all the problems I had with the first, now feels fully vindicated. She didn’t actually say I told you so but her look said it all (she was following behind me as we drove her car to the dealers to pick up the M3W)!

Every journey an adventure! I’d guess the ECU failed. Decided it wanted to be EU4 after all!

Hopefully you're home by now, and having that phone call. We'll all be very interested as to why, but I hope beyond hope it's simply a snag rather than a failure..

I'm a little surprised that the Factory are making public what we already suspected would happen, in reverting cars 'back' to ordered spec once SVA was passed. And this is only for the previous EU3 spec cars too.
Given the massive, over-inflated hoo-ha over Dieselgate and car manufacturers' environmental integrity, I'm amazed that MMC are even advertising a retro-fit EU3-alike kit to return the cars to (admittedly a sensible, logical, common-sense) pre-EU4 spec, as it is entirely against the spirit and intent of the regulations. I know these might be fitted by the dealers (options which can be less SVA test specific), but this is still ultimately Factory sanctioned and likely to attract the interest of angry do-gooders one day.
I think the Factory might do well to keep these changes slightly lower profile for a while, as I'd hate to see something blow up that takes 3 Wheeler Ltd out of circulation, as it were.... This can't be right or can it? Are you saying Morgan produce a car to meet a new EU spec, present the car for compliance approval, immediately return the car to the factory, make modifications to alter that spec then sell it to a consumer. How does that sit with the various motoring authorities, insurance and the customer? What have I missed here?

Yup. First of all, many thanks everyone for all the kind messages. Much appreciated. Today was deja vue squared. Sod’s law, when the dealer tried to start the car this morning, they said it fired up first time, they took it for a 20 minute drive with no problems and they had no difficulties starting it up afterwards either. They had a good look at everything and couldn’t find anything wrong. They did say that the contacts for the relay for the immobiliser were loose and they thought that might be the problem, which they had now remedied. We collected the car this afternoon and had a great drive back to Oxford. I stopped briefly at home and then went back into town for a quick spin with my wife but it felt as if it was not quite firing properly and then it stopped and wouldn’t start again. So that led to another 20 minute call to the Morgan Rescue Service to get another breakdown truck to come and pick it up - again. I did try starting it while waiting for the breakdown guy and it did then start up but sounded very lumpy and there was lots of white/grey smoke coming out of the exhausts. The car is clearly neither of merchantable quality nor fit for purpose if I can’t drive it for more than an hour and a half/two hours without it breaking down. I have told the dealer I don’t want to see the wretched thing again until they (or Morgan) have identified what the problem is and remedied it. Apologies for venting but I am very frustrated as this is now the second evening on the trot I have had to stand around by the side of the road in the dark for more than two hours waiting for a breakdown truck. Even my wife and father have not made fun of it this time! All in all, a pretty grim Halloween story.🎃😡🎃
