I wonder if potential buyers for the plus 8 are equally as rare though?

You're not thinking of selling are you ! No, After the AMG Incident, which has so far racked up 79 hours time, plus parts, I was wondering how much it would cost to replace if the worst happened!! It is insured for £78,995, which may be a little low! To make things totally clear.... Tarka is not and will not be for sale whilst I am still able to drive! Could you just clarify if it's for sale or not? 😉 Everything has a price.... £0.5m will secure it. No less.

I have to say I totally agree with Peter the Aero +8 is a very special car. It is enormous fun to drive, attracts just the right attention and always leaves you with a huge smile. I feel very lucky to have one and definitely intend to keep it for as long as possible.

Mind you, I do remember a conversation I had with a chap in an aero plus 8 whilst waiting for a ferry at Dieppe a couple of years ago.
He said that he really liked the car, but felt that whereas his old plus 4 always seemed to have his best interests at heart, the plus 8 kept trying to kill him.

Strange, I've never felt that the car was trying to kill me... challenge me? Yes, but kill me? No. Perhaps it is the difference between the manual and auto transmissions, they do change the character of the car more than might be thought. Or perhaps it is because I respect it for what it is. A great example of what the Plus 8 can do to make me smile: last Saturday was bright and warm and late in the morning we drove back from Williams Morgan, taking the "Scenic Route" which includes the A360 from Devises to Shrewton. Traffic was light and the section from Littelton Pannel Shrewton was a sheer joy: it is a swoopy, twisty undulating run, reasonably surfaced and with nothing either ahead or coming the other way I could let Tarka rip. . . . .I made "good progress" where it was sage to do so! As we approached the new Stonehenge visitor centre I had to slow and pay heed of others, but even so the run down to the edge of Salisbury was a good one. We arrived home still grinning! The Plus 8 is made for days like that!

Horses for courses...
My view....
4/4 = should be forbidden +4 = OK, I guess but not ideal Roadster = should be an option +8 = Should be the norm
