Having had similar problems, despite getting the brake fluid changed. I am thinking of getting stainless pistons for the rears. But does that mean the barrels will then rust ? Seems a never ending problem on trad Morgan’s.

Brake fluid eventually becomes contaminated with moisture and other contaminants, but should normally be good for three years. It can be tested for moisture/contaminants. I am ashamed to say I changed mine (dot4) at 19yrs (60,000 miles) and although some dirt came out it was relatively clean and I have never had any 'spongy' braking problems. Please don't take this time scale as adequate.

I change mine at two years and it always comes out badly discoloured from the rears. Not so much from the front. It's such a cheap and simple session in the garage and if it prolongs cylinder life its well worth doing.
So far - touch wood - my Roadster rears are still OK at twelve years old.

Yes 2 years is good - what i always do on my cars and its what Morgan recommend as well it turns out. I Spoke to a Morgan master tech the other day and he feels confident that its safe to extend to 3 years, espically on lower mileage/dry use cars. Seemed perfectly reasonable to me but i'll stick to 2 years as i found it discoloured by 2 years just as DaveW said. After all DOT4 is not expensive.
However maybe if your paying labour charges on top it might be prudent to extend to 3 years however.
Something that gets neglected/overlooked sometimes - the clutch fluid. Suffers just like brake fluid obviously and keeping it fresh will help extend the life of master and slave cylinders.
The master tech also mentioned that anti-freeze / coolant doesn't last forever ( unless its Evans waterless coolant) and depending on what type used this needs changing between 2 and 5 years - 3 years being a reasonable time and what he recommends. ( Helps avoid corrosion etc).
2015 Morgan 4/4 (Wolf fettled) previously 2014 M3W MINI Cooper S and numerous BMC/BL relics.

As I drive Old Morgans I have the cylinders lined with stainless steel. Change Hydraulic Fluid every two years. I do not use Silicon Fluid on advice by My "Mentor".
