One of the gauges on my car has just started misting up for the first time.
I've owned the car for fifteen years !

Weird...we have virtually identical cars and none of the dials ever mist up..... Is it because the garage, and thus the car, is part of the house and the temperature never falls below 10C? I've no idea!
It could be - but I have a dehumidifier running out in my barn... the barn is oak and not damp... it retains a little heat even in hard frosts. Mine will typically mist when the sun is behind me and hits the dash. Did your Roadster's dials mist?

I've now got all LEDs. I'll have to wait for some cold weather to see if it has resolved the problem

Peter, LEDs didn't work for me. The instruments themselves produce enough heat to cause the issue.

I notice that with the heater on, it gets really warm under the dash. Perhaps the air within the instruments expands and then cooler moist air is drawn in when they when they cool. The glass is colder, so gets condensation. So, maybe blank off the underside of the dashboard from the heat and then duct cold air in from a duct mounted just behind the drivers right ear. Wouldn't need a fan. Please could someone try this and let us know the result?

The new small instruments that I have, replacing the 3 in 1 instrument, are all digital and lit by LEDS. I have gone to somewhat extraordinary effort to find and replace the incandescent bulbs in the speedo and tacho and the clock which remained incandescent. The main problem was finding LEDs that had a reasonably similar colour temperature to the LEDs in the digital sealed instruments.

A brief update. My (2005) gauges are still OK, but when running the engine in the garage one day, the oil pressure gauge misted up!
Apparently there have been mixed messages from the manufacturer (of the gauges) with an implication that the gauges are sealed units. My Roadster gauges are certainly not sealed, having vents top and bottom. I haven't yet investigated the Plus 4 gauges.
Some newer Trad cars with the three large gauges are also apparently suffering with bad misting up, which is a problematic issue if the factory consider it to be normal!

My gauges only ever mist up on hot days with the sun on them - go figure 😄

Quite cold this morning but the air is very dry so it they may not have misted anyway. I took the car for a short run of only about 5 km (each way) to post a letter No misting with the LEDs, but, as I said, it may not be a fair test.
