Good Morgan, I had a problem with my indicators and on dismantling I found that the front indicator had one lens screw and the corresponding threaded brass fitting on the holder missing. I wonder whether anyone could have a these spare or where I could get them from. On a different subject I removed the windscreen to try and access and replace the dash scuttle but it seems that this is stuck to the body. I cannot see how the rounded edge on the dashboard could be removed. Thanks in advance

I may have one or two. I tend to remove a bit of the chrome plating and solder the insert on to the backplate to prevent them falling out.
The ones sold by SVC have metric threads and the original Lucas are either 4BA or 6BA and the screws correspondingly different if this bothers you. I have re-tapped them to the BA thread to match the threads on the side/indicator/reversing lights on rest of the car. Usefully, the metric thread is smaller than the BA one so re-tapping is ok and provides a good thread.

SVC are excellent, but if you don't fancy forking out £40 for a new pair of lights, you could do what I did - take out the brass insert, drill out the square hole to M5, and bung an M3 rivnut in its place. Then you can replace the BA threaded screws with stainless M3 Allen bolts.

That's a good alternative solution to my approach Tim!

Thanks all for your inputs. I would like to do it as it was originally so if David of Cheshire could find a spare screw and fitting I shall be more than pleased. As regards soldering the fitting I noted that on mine someone had fitted grab washers on the inside of the holder and that way they remain in place

These indicators are a real pain in the you-know-what. I have spent hours trying to get a screw back in and in the end totally ruined the thread in both the screw and the brass thing. The quality is absolute rubbish and if I could find some suitable LED replacement I would replace the lot. Last time I searched I could not find a suitable replacement.

In comparison with those fitted to a Discovery 300 they are wonderful. At least they don't shred ones wrists to pieces trying to remove bulbs! And that's after removing trim to gain access.
