Sorry if this has been covered in the past. I have just started replacing the very worn CVH valve stem oil seals (head still on), and wondered whether it is worth fitting new valve springs ? If recommended, has anyone got a set they don't need ? The engine has obviously been well looked after. There is no appreciable wear on the camshaft lobes, still giving a lift of just under 0.24 of an inch, and the compression is up to spec and equal across the cylinders, so I am tempted to leave well alone. Thank you in advance, John.

How many miles has it done?
My thought would be to change the springs given that you are taking the old ones off.
There is a school of thought which says valve springs go weak over time rather than through fatigue but I've never really subscribed to it
Try Burton Power for a new set of springs

It has done 100,000 miles, drives really nicely, and the engine has never been touched, except for regular servicing. Given what I understand to be the already very high loads on a CVH valve gear, I feel reluctant to use non Ford springs in case they have a higher spring rate ? ie Burton's springs are described as heavy duty ?

100k?, well due for a change I'd reckon!
Heavy duty doesn't necessarily mean increased spring poundage.

Thank's everyone, new springs ordered from Burton, and less than 1/2 the price of Ford.
John.
