When fitting a moto lita steering wheel to a trad morgan...is it possible to use brass bolts and nuts instead of alloy. Any thoughts.

I can’t forsee any issues unless your steering wheel is constantly exposed to water
Galvanic corrosion requires an electrolyte such as water
In a dry environment I don’t think it should be an issue

Just realised it was you who bought my fabulous steering wheel on eBay I had the very same thoughts of the brass when I got it - I think it will look fab. You could reverse the bolts so that the brass acorn nuts are facing you I sprayed my top ring black to give a nice contrast with the screws Although just a word of warning that if your boss is the 6 hole type, trying to get a 6 hole replacement top ring is really hard It took me half an hour of asking all the dealers at the NEC the other week before I managed to persuade a dealer to split one off a new Mountney steering wheel for a tenner 9 hole ones, ten a plenty but not 6 holes

I have fitted my mota lita wheel to the rear flange face of the boss. This obviously requires removal of the boss which is easily achieved. A little more room ahead of the driver is the result and there is no problem with knuckles rubbing against the indicator stalk.

Thanks for the advice, luckily I have a nine hole boss.looking for bolts, I have seen s/steel bolts which are brass coloured these could solve any problems with corrosion. One other thing you have chrome bezels on the dash are they fitted by you or did the come with them.pmh44

Have a look on Demon Tweekes site. I think I remember seeing coloured bolts etc there. Otherwise do a google search for coloured bolts uk.

If you want nice coloured bolts you can go for snazzy anodised aluminium, available in all sorts of colours. These are fine for low-stress applications, but you could always go the super-trick route and plump for titanium. Plenty of choice available from Pro Bolt
