I know this thread has been inactive for a couple years but my question hopefully applies. I just got a Morgan 3 Wheeler. It’s a 2016 with 1,500 miles on it. When I quick shift between gears it makes a clunking noise. Seems like the driveline is slipping. But really I have no idea. But can’t be good. I have to admit I’m driving it hard when it does this. Burning rubber through first and second.

It's a 3 wheeler morgan, shift easily between gears. It's no race car or a bike

mine dose the same ! it's the bevel box moving on its rubber mount's! if you remove the interior you can see the scar's where it's been hitting!!!!

Mine too and it's noticably worse when carrying a passenger. Winter job: remove NVH gubbins and attach bevel box securely to the chassis. Luckily my BB is relatively quiet so I'm not too concerned about noise transmission.

Mine has been banging since new (2014) - but not as bad now. I put improvement down to better clutch control, but maybe somethings being bashed away!

Firstly check the drive belt is really tight. ...but not too tight. About 5mm deflection at the middle of the long run, with the NVH kit fitted, a bit more without. If it is too slack it makes a turbine like sound under acceleration I have found.

I’m glad to hear others have had the same problem. If I shift easy I never have the clunking noise only when shifting fast between gears. I really enjoy driving it sometimes like a race car. Am I doing damage when it makes that noise?
Also when people talk about the bevel box noise is that the tapping noise that sounds like it’s coming from behind your shoulder blades? Kind of like when you don’t do up your buckle up on your helmet and it hits the helmet and makes a tapping noise in the wind?
These Morgan’s are amazing. I own a lot of cars and this thing is more fun than any of them. Just magical.
