I have a 2005 S2 Aero 8. My keyless remote does not work (i.e. does not lock or unlock the central door lock). The tech at my local dealership thinks it has something to do with the alarm system itself since it is not the fuse, wiring problem or solenoid. He tried to reset the CAN system and change the remote battery and it still did not work. He thinks there is a communication problem between my keyless remote and the receiver and suggests me to take the car to a shop which specializes in car alarm system. My question is: does anybody know what aftermarket alarm system Morgan uses on the S2 Aero 8 and does the keyless remote needs to be reset or reprogrammed especially after you change the car battery? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry can't help, I hadn't realised that remote central locking was brought in for the Series 2. Maybe there is a similar system employed in the Series 3 which came along a few years later, although I am sure your dealer tech would have known this. I would not have confidence on any information coming from the factory, especially as there were so few Series 2 cars built. Hopefully you can still lock the doors manually.

Budster has keyless entry on his 4/4 too. Mind you, something to do with having no door handles apparently. hide

S3 is the same a S2 but with updated front wings/mini headlights.
Any auto-electrician should be able to help. Can you open the boot with the remote?

I forgot to mention that my S2 Aero is a U.S. model (if that makes any difference). The keyless remote only has 2 buttons, one to open and lock the doors and the other button, I resume, is to turn on the alarm but it has no button to open the trunk (I would upload a pic of the keyless remote but I don't know how to do it on this forum, maybe somebody can help with uploading a pic). I normally open the trunk by using the button on the dash.
I know that on an older BMW 3 series you can reset the remote but I was wondering if my car uses the same remote as a BMW M62 V8 (which is essentially the same engine as my S2 Aero).
I was wondering if anybody knows if you can can reset the keyless remote on a Series 2 Aero or knows which vendor Morgan uses for the keyless remote/alarm system for central door locking on a Series 2? If I know which vendor then hopefully I can find out if the keyless remote needs to be reset or repgrammed especially after the car battery has been changed.

If I remember correctly I had the central looking on my series 2 (but it might have been the series 4) repaired at the factory and they changed the unit over.

I suspect that the system is an after market system. Can you show us what the keyfob looks like?

I'll drop you a PM with an email address.

Pictures from Thuan. Not the same as the one I had for my S2.

Does anyone recognise the unit?

John, thanks for posting the pics of my S2 keyless remote. Mine is a late 2005, took delivery in March 2006. Anybody with the this similar alarm system (either on an S2 or S3) has esperienced any problem with their unit?

Does anybody know which aftermarket alarm system this is? I am thinking it could be the wireless receiver/module that is not working or not receiving the signal from my keyless remote? Can this keyless remote be reset in order to make it communicate again with the receiver in the car?
