In the same hole? That would be a neat trick I think I might be tempted to use the Australian version stop light repeater location in a pod on a stalk between headrests. No issues with fog light not being seen due to low vehicle height then.

Here in Michigan any attempt to use that stock rear facing fog light would just result in a fine. So I have the Aussie Backup lamp in its proper position in the bodywork. I have to say that due to the beam pattern and the tapering body of the car, it doesn't exactly make it brilliantly bright back there.

Here in The States any attempt to use that stock rear facing fog light would just result in a fine. So I have the Aussie Backup lamp in its proper position in the bodywork. I have to say that due to the beam pattern and the tapering body of the car, it doesn't exactly make it brilliantly bright back there. I have been using the rear fog as a running light during the day with no issues. Have had police cars directly behind be with no comment.

Maybe I worry too much? Or maybe Michigan is more likely to write B.S. violations to help make up for the loss of tax revenue. Either way the clear light serves more of a purpose for me. And I already think the rear looks far too busy with all the lights and reflectors back there.
