I have noticed that every time I switch on the battery isolator switch the needle of the tachometer goes hard over. Then when I start the car it starts reading the correct revs. Any clues

It seems to be a feature of some cars with an electronic rev counter. My SS100 did the same and didn't like it if I tried to start the engine before it returned to zero.
Here for a good time not a long time!!
