Not quite sure why this should surprise anyone. It's the same with any road vehicle, after all. Modify it, and it breaks the manufacturers homologation design.
It doesn't mean its illegal to use, just that it's different from the manufacturers standard.
Pretty much every Morgan made will be the same...exhausts...lights...etc etc.
