Happy to say. My boy's visa arrived at 11am today, an hour later we had booked him on the next flight and at 9pm he set off on his big adventure. He starts class on Monday.

My son has a couple of good friends who go to Exeter Uni. The social life is very good and it's a friendly Uni. Feel sure he'll love it.

Philip, I only just spotted this post. I grew up in Paignton a sea side town 30 miles away. Exeter is a fantastic small city surrounded by lovely countryside. My son graduated in 2017 with his Doctorate in Classics from Exeter. If your son needs more contacts please pm me his email & I will put him in touch with Sam.

Boy that's cutting it fine, and, I suppose, no advance booking discount on the airfare  Delays in getting the Visa? I think we are probably all a little envious and nostalgic about our own student days.

I read Business and Accounting there; graduating around 13 years ago now.
Lovely city, very safe, not the best social side (i.e. the clubs arent that great) but that's OK. You can walk from one side of the city to the other.
I'm sure he will have a great time.

Our Dear Daughter Sophie gained her PhD there. Its a highly sought after place to be and a beautiful campus. Exeter is clean and civilised and steeped in history.  One of my watercolour paintings of the Cathedral
