Well, I am the new owner of Cerealsurfer's former Aero 8. I did 700 miles over two days. A great car in a beautiful condition.

What impresses me most so far is the chassis.

Congratulations Phil, I think that you've got a great car. flag Cereal drove me up to Malvern in it on the 1st July 2010, probably his last major airing of it and I must say I was impressed.

Many Series I are now beginning to look a bit tired, but yours is in great condition and the improvements made to it really work. Looking forward to hearing your further impressions as you do more miles.

Enjoy...

Glad to see you posting and enjoying the car.... 700 miles, what a drive, did you get settled into packing the luggage space ok after some practice?

Yes, luggage was the easy part! Tennis keeps me fit but not particularly supple. Getting in and out is what now requires practice ;-)

Car will be out tomorrow on favourite Scottish roads. Lucky me, they are only a few miles away...

Phil

Glad you are enjoying your new car.

After 2&1/2 years of ownership of mine, I still have to pinch myself that I'm not in a dream being able to own such a fantastic car. Just returned from 3 days driving around the St Chinian AOC villages in the department of Herault. Everywhere we went people liked the car and wanted to talk about it. It's a wonderful ice breaker and a good way of getting free drinks too!

I know Toulouse is a long way from Scotland but if ever you are in the South of France don't hesitate to get in touch. It's rare to be able to get a couple of Aero 8s together down here.

We find baggage capacity pretty good though my wife's shoes did use to pose a problem. Now she's made a string of small bags for them, bit like sausages, and it's easy to fill the gaps in the boot after the rest of the packing.

Cheers

I did an archaeological dig in Eauze once. First time I'd been to France and everyone was so friendly. I really enjoyed the Gascogne region. The wine was great too!

Hi Philippo, je suis francophone habitant en Ecosse, and am often in the South of France (have a place in Provence) and I was in Toulouse twice over the past 6 months. Maybe one day we will meet!
