I'm in the middle of fitting one of Phil's kits to better locate the bevel box to the chassis. As I've removed the existing gubbins, I've found telltale signs that confirm that the NVH hardware has allowed significant movement of the bevel box.

I'm sure this explains the loud clonk when getting off the line (especially when carrying a passenger) and I can't wait to be rid of this unwelcome feature!
Of course, the irony is that my (early) chassis originally had the BB hard-mounted to the chassis but the previous owner had had it 'upgraded' to NVH spec!

Here is the BB mounting kit as received from Phil. Weight of all parts: 3.4kg (7.5 lbs)


And here is the old NVH hardware: 9kg (19.8 lbs)

Is it just a case of removing the old NVH parts and fitting Phil's kit or do you have to remove all the mounting hardware as well?

Hi John,
Yes, basically you remove the NVH kit and fit Phil's BB mounting brackets instead. It's quite a big strip-down involving removal of most of the interior trim but nothing too onerous for the home mechanic. For more details may I refer you to the installation instructions: Bleazey BB mounting kit

Can you fit to a 2013 chassis?

You certainly can , fitted one to my 2013 last weekend.

The upper bevel box clamp needs a trivial mod to clear the rear bulkhead, Phil will probably build this change into future kits.
Makes a world of difference for urban stop start driving with non of the clonk clonk we are used to with the NVH.

Is the purpose of this kit to get rid of bevel box whine or some of the other Driveline noises

In my case the reason for fitting this kit is to eliminate the banging on acceleration. My BB is fairly quiet so I'm not too concerned with other noise issues. Phil's website goes into greater depth about the various other potential issues caused by the NVH system and in any case is an excellent read!
