I am very happy with my Nikon D7200, saved a few ££'s by getting a grey import from HDEW Cameras, not a million miles from you if you are interested.

Bit of thread drift this one. I like gadgets / techie things and from that perspective I would like a decent slr. But I have thousands of photos on the PC HDD and I almost never look at them. So whats the point?
So leading on from that, what do you actually do with the photos you take using your expensive kit? Or is the taking of them what its all about? Put them on Flickr, 500px, etc to show other people possibly. Or even Social Media. I make calendars and cards for friends and family too.

Something I miss about photography - the smell of old cameras when you put your eye up to the viewer

I think the smell was a combination of leather from the camera case and machine oil - maybe it was the 35mm film as well

Every time I see the letters SLR I can't help but think of one of these: As used by the Australian Army during the Vietnam War era. I missed out on the call up, thank goodness.
