I would have thought the objectification of women would have ended in the 1950s. Seems it still goes on. Very very sad.

Incredibly sad.

Any event listed as being single sex, male or female, just provides opportunities of inappropriate behaviour, and what is especially sad is that men in this instance are simply being manipulated into parting with money by the lure of alcohol and sexual titivation.

And the hostesses..? Timed toilet breaks, encouraged to parade and dress provocatively etc etc. They could and should say no, but some are quite willing to be meat and that's even sadder.

What's truly sick about this kind of thing is that a significant number of the men attending these events will have daughters around the age of the hostesses they are leering at and groping.

And yet people still rave about The Full Monty and such like.

2sides to every story, it is hard to imagine any of these girls being ignorant of what to expect- don't get me wrong , I'm not condoning the men's behaviour, however reading between the lines , the event sounds like a posh Stag.
I don't know who or what these girls are but I can say with total certainty, my daughter wouldn't apply for a job like this.

Come on its a two way thing , the women don't have to . Its been going on since Adam and Eve and will go one till we all vanish . Do I feel sorry not at all ones as bad as the other.

I'm with you on this one JTL.

The thing I object to is the girls and women who do not get jobs or recognition as actresses, singers, etc. because they were not accomodating to the men making the decisions. At the same time those who willingly sold themselves to get such positions have no right to complain years later. In fact by selling themselves they made life difficult for those who did not wish to do so.

Chauvinistic feminism bandwagon hijacked by the FT for the sake of gleaning a cheap story.
The annual event raising millions for charity now sadly jeopardised. Children's hospitals shamed into refunding the charitable donations. Will the FT make good the £millions of donations lost?

Hmm! Did you have a daughter Hamwich? I did and I wont even pretend that when my then 17 year old daughter brought home her 17 year old friends that I didnt notice a nice bum and bouncy knockers. Because I did. And I though to myself " I wouldnt mind a bit of that" not that I ever did anything about the thought.

Then of course there are the brollie dollies at biker races and the same sort of girls at the NEC shows and the trolly dollies on aircraft.

Can you smell piety? If you can then this thread has a definite whiff of it.

This is not the same thing as women being involuntarily sexually harassed in their workplaces or in public trains. Assuming that these women are fully informed about this, then they are voluntarily doing it because they need the money or want to help charities raise money for good causes.

I agree with smudger that none of my daughters would participate in this type of event. And neither would I -- I don't know which charities are involved, but I probably would refuse to donate to any charity that knowingly sponsors these events.
