Hi.
I took delivery of my +4 on the 6th of August and have already clocked 5.200 joyful kilometeres. I've seen five year old Morgan's with less mileage.
I went right across Germany to the Baltic Sea and back last weekend, driving at 180 most of the time. Fuel consumption went up dramatically, otherwise it was near perfect. The Morgan proved more durable than me - I had a massive headache on Monday and really felt wrung out.
However what's most likely to go wrong first? Re-grease every 3.000km or every 5.000km?
Cheers, Marian

Cheers, Marian I'll tell you soon about mileage. As you I was surprised to see so many "young" Mogs with a really few miles on the clock Maybe it's just people who bought the wrong car at the wrong moment ???

I run around 3000 miles on the '76 4/4, though this does vary - it's on classic insurance so is limited to 5k miles in any year.
I did 3k miles in the +4 in the first 4 months of ownership last year.
My annual mielage (in my own vehicles) is somewhere in the region of 15k, though this has probably dropped 10% or so since early May now that the regular trips to family have stopped. Making up for a it a little by trying to get to a few more events... Regular commute to work comes in at approx 8k miles pa.

In two years of Roadstering, my mileage has gone from approx 5,500 to 11,200 - so nearly 3,000 per year. Regrease at least at 3K, and more often of possible. It doesn't take long.

Drive to Portsmouth next week, ferry to Santander, drive across Pyrenees to Collioure for a week of arty-culture, drive NW across France to Ile-de-Re for a few days en bicyclette, then NE to Calais and the joys of M25, back in Scotland in three weeks time after about 2k miles just getting around plus whatever we do "for fun" It's not the distance, it's the quality that counts, hence shiny new SatNav so MrsR can sit back and enjoy the scenery PS will re-grease after 1,000 miles!

In the first months of ownership, of 2 Mogs I have had, i did much higher mileage. This year, despite taking the car out 2/3 times a week I have only done less than 3000km. My journies are generally under 20km, country roads, in the sunshine, travelling from A TO A, no stops, hood down, till home with a smile. Only the occasional big journey on a Morgan Rally day. Friends I know only bring the car out in the summer then only rarely. One of them has less than 5000km in 5 years of ownership. This is often because of busy lives. If you can I would say get out there while the desire lasts.

Looks like about 5000 miles a year in my 2009 +4 (currently just over 9K). I try to regrease every 1000 miles but a bit difficult when cruising abroad.

6000 miles in 4/4 Sport including a trip to the Loire at Easter. I agree with Wyndales - its the quality that counts, 100 miles of deserted French roads more fun than 1000 on many UK roads
