The next time I see a female colleague dressed in a provocative way I think I'll complain to HR and say that it make me feel uncomfortable. The answer is, of course, corporate workwear: Something like THIS Certainly not THIS !!

I can just imagine the conversations going on at the moment at my old employer (Suzuki). I suspect that the extremely earnest and politically correct HR Manager will be at odds with the Race Team Manager over what the clothing will be for this years BSB Grid Girls!

I do not condone rape in any way and obviously I was not party to this particular conversation, but I have to say that I have often seen young women dressed in a way that is bound to attract, sometimes unwanted, attention. Whilst it should be possible for anyone to dress however they like at any time even a lamb would have more sense than to enter a lion's den late at night.
If men are not able to control themselves and therefore force themselves on women, then that is ONLY the fault of the men. "She was asking for it, with the way she was dressed" is NEVER an excuse for rape.

No one said it was.

No one said it was. I'm glad we're clear on that, it appeared that there might have been some blame being passed to the female for wearing certain clothes.

I‘m father of 3 girls. Growing them up I passed them proper education, self-assuredness, esprit and a good sense for their (also social) environment. One of them is even doing model jobs but none of them ever needed to fight sexual harassment. Saying NO in time was always enough - and they learned to stay out of trouble areas by using common sense.

Dad used to say " you can be the most intelligent Man in the world but if you don't have common sense the intelligence is worthless. "

I am going to turn this around . We are all men and yes there will be the odd female reading this I HOPE hence we may get a woman's thoughts on it . I have been to many shows over my 46 years in business . So what about the other side of life . Yes it happens and I am not on the side of women or men . I have been chatted up boobs flashed at me skirts to short along with blouses to tight etc etc . One woman grabbed me between her breasts and held me their . I am no Daniel Craig yet one asked me to go skinny dipping with her and she was married. Another said I was afraid of sex and that's just the tip of the iceberg from her . TWO sides to every story along with the papers hyping it out for sales . So go on ask the woman in your life for her honest opinion, you may get a surprise .
I THINK WE WOULD ALL LIKE TO KNOW .

I suspect that the extremely earnest and politically correct HR Manager will be at odds with the Race Team Manager over what the clothing will be for this years BSB Grid Girls! And both will be at odds with the Japanese who's culure on both race and sex is very different to ours. Personally I dont see the need for the grid girls and certainly not for the two bimbos that stand at each end of the podium. Trouble is, that this sort of thing sends out a message to young women that appearance is everything and that in turn leads to a lot of misery. Its a message that is endlessly re-inforced by such things as the totally vacuous cosmetic adverts. Whilst I strongly object to the feminist anti men campaign that is going on at the moment, I am in many ways a feminist myself. As for my wife's view Jack the Lad, she thinks that these young women know exactly wha they are getting into when they offer themselves for that sort of work. Interestingly thats exactly what Jordan said, and she has worked as a "glamour model".

Before Christmas I decided to pull away from the forum as certain people were getting me riled and I couldn’t see what enjoyment I was getting from what has been a great forum ever since I joined way back in 2011.
The last few days I’ve been looking at the forum without logging on with a view to coming back but I have to say that I am staggered by some of the views expressed on this thread and particularly by Howard with his views towards his daughters friends and hard working airline hostesses. Unbelievable. Well...perhaps not, I’ve always thought of him a a troll on this forum, deliberately dropping in comments guaranteed to get people’s backs up. So.....this is my final post. I’ll be only too glad to say hi to many of you at forthcoming events and I have some good friends in here who will always remain so. To those of you who have posted over the years and kept me both amused and informed, a very big thank you. Goodbye and good luck to you all. John
