Is this a national trend? We have universities that refuse to allow talks by anyone who has a, say, right wing view; young people trying to change the names of historic buildings and now, I think, we have people on this forum labelled as trolls because they disagree with the majority. Why have a Malvern Arms if nothing can be discussed. I have never put a post that I would not say face to face or in public. Surely a troll is some one who hides his identity. As just posting on the cars it would be pretty thin gruel as the cars do not change much.

There is a world of difference between conversation with differing viewpoints, and conversations with an angry bigotry. Bigotry is rife amongst a minority of people, and is often used in arguments such as this.

Sadly TM has become just a place to post controversial views, and become the very place to provoke a response. It isn't big & it isn't clever, and I'm heartily sick and tired of switching on and reading such extremist diatribe.

It concerns me greatly to read that the usual half dozen of people have driven away many, including female TM members.

No-where on here have I read the word 'Sorry' from any of those bigots. That speaks volumes, and I agree with Peter. People come onto TM because it's a hobby based thing, not a political, mysogenistic lifestyle.

I have no problem with non morgan topics in the malvern arms, if the topic does not interest me, i dont open/follow it.

I suggest you all listen to today's Women's hour. There was a very sensible discussion by two men with the presenter.

Very refreshing in this time of hyperbole.

You know, I've not logged on for a few days and just saw this thread, I've read all the comments and formed a few opinions I'll keep to myself. However, some of the more vocal of you (from both sides of the opinion fence)should do the same, read your own comments and consider what some of you are posting on other threads. Seems to me the following applies 'It's OK to have an opinion as long as it's the same as mine, if it's not then it's a tirade'.

I for one will not be giving up on this forum, I feel that that would be letting the trolls win. There is far too much good stuff which outweighs the nasties. No disrespect to Jays, we will miss him and everyone has to make their own mind up.

I also think that the old adage "sticks and stones etc." is applicable here. If you don't like something, you are free to ignore it. Maybe the thread should have been moved to the soap box.
