Fantastic - it also mentions a vintage car to be won every month

I’ve got a feeling my dad had some vintage car glass tumblers when I was very young on a sideboard in the dining room. I wonder if they were from this promotion?

I did have lots of pictures of the Warley, including build pics, but I can't seem to find the disc. I'll keep looking.

I did find this one. Two friends of mine checking and loading the car after it's maiden voyage to Goodwood, ready for the return trip.

Yes, the Bentley was the August prize. Apparently Mobil gave away a 1930 Rolls-Royce P2 coupe in September and October's was a 1927 38/250 supercharged Mercedes-Benz.

Happy days!

Yours for 3 gallons of Mobil! I can't see them repeating that competition any time soon.

Could work out like the Hoover offer!

That Bentley Special is beautiful. I think with the auto (I assume a GM TH400 box - similar to the one in my Firebird) it would be a very easy and relaxing car to drive - which suits the car perfectly I would have thought.

Personally I might have gone for a different colour for the interior and roof to contrast with the grey coachwork. Not sure what though!

Looking through I feel the same. Guess you need to be an aficionado to understand the differences between the models. It does mean that you can get into a 30/40s Rolls/Bentley for not too much money if you're not fussy.

I was rather struck by this magnificent offering - a special based on the chassis of a MkVI with the V8 out of a T type, all wrapped up in a rather luscious 2 seater body. Yum.

Seems to have Image Wheels, bolt on of the same shape as the 80 anniversary 4/4 Morgan has in form of knock off types.

It is very nice but the price seems too high with the non original V8 & auto box. The Warley is nicer. I sold my S3 for a tenth of the asking price.
