With the roof down on my +4 SS I am aware of exhaust fumes entering the cockpit to some extent.
Didn't get that with 4/4.
Has any body else experienced this ?...might it be the air flow behind the car causing this?

Overfuelling from the throttle bodies, leading to lots of VOC's at the rear ??

I have this on my M16 plus 4. It seems better with the side screens on. It does detract from the driving pleasure.

I am going to fit a wind barrier behind the seats but this would not sit well with an out and out track car.

I think that no spare wheel causes more low pressure at the rear. Peter J has talked about having stuff sucked into the cockpit area.

It was a problem on my Brooklands Roadster 3.7 but it has been solved by converting the exhausts to side exit. I'm guessing a vortex at the rear of the car brings the exhaust fumes into the cockpit. Image from a previous post Don.

Side exit exhaust and no spare here, no fumes with or without sides.
The air flow at the rear does seem to suck dirt back into the car though, there can be a slight film of grime on the slope and the back of the seats when the road is damp.

Image from a previous post Don. How did you do it? I'd like something similar. I can definitely smell the exhaust coming in when the engine is cold so ai imagine it's doing it all the time, I just can't smell it once the cat starts working..... Nick

Out and out track car and you worry about fumes? Not enough castor oil smell?
