Could it be that all MMC has done is taken the established race car and give it a modest work-over, with a less track focussed wing and raised ground clearance??

This is almost certainly not the case..... I suspect the reverse. The race cars referenced were not developed or designed by the factory beyond the underlying core chassis and the parts and designs let alone what ever tooling exists belongs to companies disconnected from MMC. For example the bodies whilst looking similar are in fact quite different - as is most of not all the running gear.

I suspect we’ll see a stock Aero with a few performance hints and styling queues but not much more. The racing Aero’s engine, ecu and gearbox alone would be circ. £50k just sat as parts on the floor - let alone the carbon/GF bodywork and everything else to make it move as a functioning vehicle.
