Went for a glorious run today in the Staffordshire sunshine en-route (via a significant detour) to my first ever Morgan MOT
I have to admit to being more than a little bit nervous with this MOT being new to Morgans and having done a lot of work in this first year.
Rebuilt the front suspension with SSL system and Chrome Kingpins.
Fitted a Librands exhaust manifold and system.
Fitted a Sifab radiator with mainly new hoses and a new Aluminium Expansion Tank.
Sorted out the cooling system by replacing a DIY modified thermostat.
Stripped out the Ford ECU and replaced with an OMEX600 including removing the Mass Air Flow Meter (MAF) and most of the Ford wiring.
Re-wired the speedo to work directly from a hub mounted pickup instead of the gearbox driven original.
Removed and refitted the steering rack, adjusting the free play and fitting a new gaiter.
And last but not least, fitted Librands door checks so my wife doesn't ladder any more stockings.
With most of these jobs I've had a lot of advice from TM either as answers to direct questions or by delving back into the archives. So thank you TM'ers.
The area I was most worried about was the Emissions test having replaced the ECU and removed the MAF but She passed easily with an almost perfect Lambda of 1.005 and very low CO and HC readings.
So, my first Morgan MOT passed with flying colours and no advisories.
I now think I'm starting to get to know her and the enjoyment just keeps growing.
