I think it is a good idea also as it is a long flog down to Northern Italy. I have done it by train. My post was to take the kic out of Swindon really.

Have you considered crossing the channel from Harich to The Hook, driving to Düsseldorf, and then getting the Motorail to Verona overnight? It Saves a long drive.

Thanks for all for the posts. Actually I have been working in Swindon, so John, I know what you mean.
All this is for the obvious reason that the pleasures of the tour might be ruined by the agony of the journey there and back. Much better to get on a plane and take a short taxi ride to a nice gleaming Morgan. I appreciate that I would be using someone else's pride and joy, but there can't be many communities where pretty much everyone is known, and can be relied on to look after the car properly.

A good idea, Stuart! Our Morgan will be delivered in a few weeks and we will be using it a lot this year. Maybe something for the future. When did you plan to come to Austria?

Living in Denmark we are a little northerly compared to your preferences. However, should you decide to change plans we have a 1978 4/4 and a 1975 +8 - both totally rebuilded within the last 3 - 4 years. And very interested in a swap.
