Taffy,
Trouble is as soon as you get the front flashed in and looking immaculate you will be very upseat picking up stone chips. I've never had a car pick up so many but I'm over it now, I did a diy job with armorfend on the cabbage cutter on the front and under the indicators, but where did I pick up all the stone chips, all around the rest of the pannels and under the head lights. I don't care any more, just drive the car and have a respray in a couple of years.

Well, I agree with you aerotaff - I just see the 'bump' very annoying!
I also have 4 boxed OZ wheels which I keep putting off fitting as I think I will kerb them or crack them with all the potholes!
Decisions decisions!!!

Taffy
Looks like we have 8 new wheels between us.I dropped a motorbike battery on the rear wing a few years ago and a guy came out and fixed it he did a brilliant job no painting required but mentioned that it was the thickest ally he had worked on car wise. This might be an option for you.

Fellas. This is a mighty long thread and I’ve read most of it BUT what’s the best most efficient remedy?

My car has the worn crank drive gubbins jobby so only a matter of time.

Do I have to remortgage the house?

Nope
I’ve remanufactured them in better materials
Got the drives and the rack parts on the shelf
