Wonderful smell. I keep a tin in the garage and use it for stubborn marks on the inside of Morgan wheels.

I first used Gunk when I was 17 ...over 53 years ago!

Not only did it smell amazing ...it actually worked!!

My mate Woodsy charges me either £5 or a packet of fags to steam clean an engine bay in his yard. Drive in, spray the bay with Traffic Film Remover, off for a brew and a chinwag then fire up the steam cleaner. Job done at minimal cost!

I cleaned the engine on my last Mog with Gunk

Protected all the electrical connectors with plastic wrap - took a while as I was very careful

Put a large plastic sheet under the engine on the drive

Then used a large old paint brush to cover all the areas with Gunk

Rinsed off carefully with a hose

Went over again with the paint brush dipped in a bucket of water

Rinsed off again

Dried off with a hair dryer

Took the plastic off the electrical bits and connectors

Then treated all the black plastic bits with Aerospace 303 protectorant and polished any shiny bits

Made a huge difference and was very pleased with the result

Stewart.
Very impressive, but also somewhat disappointing!
As I have said before, I always imagined that you have your butler or valet carry out these tasks for you!!

wink. toff

Great work Stewart.
I often think that the under bonnet , engine etc is a neglected part of presentation.

For some reason lost in time I love seeing a clean valetted engine bay.

I use a Bike spray on all my rubber hoses etc ...creates a great if short term look.

Am investigating a more permanent solution but being put off by poor residual look ( like dried out varnish) over time which many so called " treatments" leave behind.

Suggestions welcome !

Rubber hoses and similar bits - I use Autoglym Rubber and Vinyl restorer. Having used it for years I'm still impressed at the seemingly magic results.
