Bit miffed that the EJ training regime has sidelined two Chiefs players with injuries. (Nowell and Williams)

(Just back from Sandy Park watching Chiefs this afternoon- now trying to warm up)

I might be a bit of a poor loser although I do think Ireland deserve the Championship as they have definitely played the better rugby but I do feel that the referees in both the Scotland game and the France game have been overly officious against England. The referees in my opion have shown a bias particularly when it comes to the time allowed for England to release the ball and penalties given against England.

Play was allowed to continue without video refs when it went for the opposition but play scrutinised when something went in Englands favour

In my judgement they have not applied the same standards to England's opposition.

And my theory behind this is because of the Wales game when Wales were'nt given a clear try because of a video ref cock up.

I think this decision and the much publicised aftermath either conciously or subliminally somehow affected the refeering in Englands subsequent games.

Does anybody who understands the rules and technicalities better than me think similar or am I on my own with this one?

I cant say that you are on your own but I do disagree with you. With the possible exception of the French ( and I am not making an allegation here) I dont believe that any nationality orf referee would go in for bias / cheating. The French have "form" so to speak going back to my youth and the Monte Carlo rally, and on numerous occasions in all sorts of areas since then. But I have absolutely no reason to doubt any decision by the French referee in this series anyway.

One of the attractions of rugby is the acceptance without argument of the referees decisions and I view with dismay the TV pundits arguing the toss over incidents like the England / Wales one. You accept the decision and move on.

Very difficult to referee, and even the best must feel pressure from a home crowd; however I do agree with Howard on this one.
It is Rugby Union; where the tradition is to respect the referee's decision and move on.

The wheels seem to have come off the England set up at the moment. Robert Kitson's description of "training like Tarzan and playing like Tintin" seems pretty accurate. Also too many injuries are occurring in training which is an indicator that all is not right.

There is speculation that there are a group of older players known as the "un-droppables"!
Hopefully EJ will sort this and get England back to winning ways.
If he doesn't, we can forget the World Cup next year in Japan. We'll get hammered.

I was a Warks ref for 6 seasons.

I enjoyed it - but the team winning thought you were great ...the opposition thought very rude words about you! Having said that great respect was always shown.

For what it's worth I thought Wales were robbed of a try - but v v close decision.
