My fuel filler hose is on it's last legs, due to age/ Ethanol?
This is the original hose fitted during assembly long before the introduction of Ethanol into petrol, so this is my question !

bearing in mind MMC like to fully "liquidate its assets". In other words if I order a fuel filler hose from my local agent , will it be "New Old Stock " ie Old type fuel resistant or as I would hope "Modern Fuel Proof " , made from material similar to what I would expect be found in a brand new production car say made by Audi/ Nissan and the like?

I think that particular hose is a "special" . I have had to replace one about 4 years ago , and my car is the same age as yours. I am pretty sure that the vapour return line "joins" the main delivery line (larger diameter) quite close to the top of the hose. Both of these need to be an exact fit or there is a risk of fuel vapour leakage.

If you can spare the time off the road , take the old one off and get a new one made up to the same spec but in a more modern rubber (silicone? epdm? ) which is resistant to the more aggressive components of modern fuels.
