Many thanks for that link but I would not put an impact wrench anywhere near an aluminium socket, after what I have seen at far too close quarters. I will see if anyone does a steel impact version in 1/2" drive of the 70mm octagonal socket.

I have one of these and it works well. http://shop.mwsint.com/product_details.asp?id=179. Item KAS42. Never had a problem removing the wheel nut, I use Neverseeze on the threads and flange as well.

I think that is the best solution so far and if needed it would be a simple job to weld two 1/2" pins into a steel bar, which you could then use as a breaker bar on this neat little brass spanner. Wilson

Hi Draggin,
I have the same as +8Rich in my garage. A piece of 60"x11/2"X11/4" bar with removal tool welded on, slightly cranked so as to keep away from bodywork.
Then posh socket and 24" bar (wrench when at relative's garage) to put back on.

Im betting the paint in the wheels is partly to blame. I will apply the heat gun next

I have just ordered a Motor Wheel Services brass spanner, KAS 42 at £12 + P&P. It really offended me the way the supplied spanner marked the nuts. I will get the local blacksmith in France to make a bar to fit on the brass spanner.

in France blacksmiths have become rare birds, as rare as seeing an anvil flying.
