Anyone replaced an engine mounting on a 2013 model ? Relative novice with the spanner’s looking to DIY. Is this wise ? I have various trolley jack s and tools etc from my youth when tinkering was essential to keep the pride and joy on the road. But that’s back in the 70,s !!!

Well, as others have not, I will try to help a bit. Do not use a trolley jack to lift the engine. Use an engine hoist on the front of the engine. 1. Put Morgan on Jack Stands as high as You can do it safely. 2. Attach engine hoist on front of engine. My ZETEC has a lifting device on the front. 3. Take a bit of weight off the engine with the hoist. 4. Remove engine mount. 5. Reverse procedure to replace.
I do not use a Engine Hoist myself. I use a chain Fall with a big beam overhead (holds garage up).

I cannot be sure why the mounting bolt sheared, it was discovered at the MOT.
I can recall a loose piece of tarmac being thrown up by a vehicle in front wish rattled under the car which may have caused the problem however no other damage was evident.

Hi, Plucked up the courage to brave the typical Easter weather and replaced the mounting on Sunday. All done within an hour including a front suspension greasing session.
The replacement mount is not a UK part and therefore takes a few weeks to arrive.......from Ford USA.
Needless to say the weather deteriorated and postponed the road test.

Brave man, way too cold for me. It would be great to know the part number or donor vehicle if you have it?

The invoice lists the part number as MEC 1505. Regards George

Just for future reference. They appear to be Jaguar items, part number 2W93-6A003-AE.
