Having received the beautifully made Motor Wheel Services 42mm thread octagon heavy brass spanner, I am amazed they can do it for the price of just £12. I would have thought there must be close to £12 worth of brass, let alone the cost of casting and machining. Excellent value for money.

We don't just have anvil thieves in France but thieves of anything that is not bolted down. I have had things like a cheap plastic hose pipe stolen from my garden. Someone climbed up one of the rough stone walls on the exterior of the house, got in at a first story window and lifted wallets and bags etc, while we were sitting having lunch around the pool, so they are pretty brazen. From the size of the small dirty foot prints we found, it must have been a child burglar. I now have to keep all windows that are not in my direct line of sight, locked shut the whole time. Particularly when the circus is in the village. The crime rate quadruples over that week-end.

Graham,

I still cannot get it to work for an avatar. It says "improper picture type." It is a JPEG of less than 100 x 100 pixels saved to my public folder in tm-img

Are you using the BBCode that ends ".jpg" Wilson?

Can't remember how I did mine now, but I think it's hosted on a Land Rover forum somewhere.

Graham,

I think I have done it now. I had to open the embedded codes and chose the URL rather than the link. At least it has uploaded to my profile and we will see if it starts to appear alongside my posts.

You need this link Wilson:

https://www.tm-img.com/images/2018/04/05/911-RSR.jpg

Which should place this:

as your avatar.

You do not need the start "[img]" and end "[/img]" for avatars.

Hope that helps?

For those of you who have done this before, is it necessary to take the front fenders off in order to get the wheel off. Looking at mine it looks awfully tight but it seems that was a little bit of fiddling and it might be able to clear?

If the tyre is a bit worn and you let some pressure out then yes, it will come off okay with the mudguard on. You'll probably have to take it off to get the wheel back on though. Sometimes you can't win!

Morgan are well known for precision manufacturing. My left hand wheel comes off without removing the mudguard my right hand wheel has to have the mudguard removed :-)

Ha, nothing like a bit of cross posting!
Good luck with fuel in France.
