As some of you may remember, recently I presented electric replica of Morgan Runabout 1909 (the prototype of serial vehicles) built in Ukraine last year from scratch. This experience was so fun, that we decided to offer our services to build various replicas of ancient vehicles after that.

Now we start our next project - building a replica of serial vehicle, Morgan Runabout 1910 (see the photo above). It will also have electric engine, but other details will be as close to the original as possible (while still made from scratch) - ribbon brakes, 2-speed gearbox, acetylene headlights etc. Morgan Motor Company archivist kindly provided me with some drawings and photos for this project and I thank him for this valuable help.

I think this forum should be a perfect place for such build thread (correct me if I am wrong :-)).

Thank you for your kind words. So I start.

In March we had a preparation phase - purchasing materials and sending some of them for processing; re-development of blueprints, because serial 1910 vehicle has differences in comparison with the prototype 1909 replica we built earlier.

Frame tubes and leaf springs from old soviet car Moskvitch.

Initially we planned to use rear electric motor-wheel hub with scooter disc brake, as we used on previous machine. But after discussing that with the Client, we decided to be as close to the original as possible. We will use electric engine hidden under the front hood, cardan drive and 2-speed gear box with chain drives to the rear wheel. And 2 rear mechanical band brakes, we will buy 6 inch brake bands for GoKart (from eBay) and produce brake drums ourselves.

Materials for bodywork.

First we planned to use 1.5 kwt electric engine but it is too big to be hidden under the front hood. So we decided to use 1kwt engine, it is small enough. Custom built Lithium 48v30ah battery with battery management system will be used as a power source.

Front suspension parts, other nuts and bolts.

New fake JAP engine blueprints were developed, because it is different from Peugeot Freres engine we had on 1909 prototype.

Fake JAP engine 3d model.

Probaby these are lugs for frame assembly.

In April, we plan to start building the battery, buy the electric engine, start frame assembly and other activities.
