Where is SteveT when you need him. I have a Duratec engine so don't want to give you duff info. When my car was serviced I looked up the code number on the Internet and got a whole list of alternative oil filters. On my car I need to specify a filter with a bypass, anti drain valve.

Well I'm about! Its going back a bit but when I did mine I used a K&N Oil Filter, from memory it was HP-1002, but easy enough to check the Ford to K&N cross reference. Air Filter I didn't need and plugs were Ford, although again unless your mileage is high they may not be needed. Worth taking them in and out just to make sure they stay removable, most dealers don't bother because of high change intervals.

Thanks Ian and Steve T. I’m trying to involve Harry in the service. Took a plug out to cross ref.- no luck. Emailed Williams -no reply. I’ll try Melvin Rutter tomorrow. Looking forward to PRESCOTT as the weather improves. Hope to see you soon.

Unfortunately as you know we were not there. We were taking part in the MAC classic run to Shelsley ( run up the hill included ) However we did call in to Prescott on the way and spied a couple of Mogster friends and of course big waves to you on the Ashford T/L,s. Harry was very excited. See you soon Steve

I should have stopped briefly Steve as there was nothing behind me. Would have got tongues going in the other vehicles, no doubt! Good to spot you and Harry, all the same.

Re GDI servicing, please be very careful when removing the leads from the coil packs. You can damage them with resulting pain to the wallet and, unless you have done around 40,000 miles, there should be no need anyway.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg
