Anyone know of a relatively cheap scanner that will work with the 4.8 +8? I have an engine light come on and I suspect it's an oxygen sensor which I'd like to clear... I bought one off Amazon and it didn't work.

Get an ELM 327 and a free app for your cell phone. They are about 10 bucks.

I use a Maxiscan MS309 to clear the warning light.
The Yellow light comes on often enough that I keep the thing in my car.
The cause is down to the ECU over fuelling the engine under a set of particular conditions... MMC is aware of the problem and is, I understand, working with Bosch to develop a revised ECU map for all 4.8s to cure the issue.
The warning is because the Lambda reading from the post car sensor drops out of permitted range for a second or so, so triggering the warning. It is harmless, a "technical" violation of the permitted emission levels.
I have found that it happens when the cats drop below optimal temperature, typically when driving at low revs at constant speed. One solution, on an automatic, seems to be to always keep the car in "Sport" mode... I've not had the light come on since September. Having said that no doubt it will light up this weekend....

I also use the ELM 327 in combination with free app for my iphone which even offers to clear any faults. Very simple, reliable and cheap solution.

Thanks Peter.... I have ordered the Maxiscan. I had a couple of fast laps around Goodwood hoovering up E Types, not sure if that was the reason.

No 911's.
Turned out that the Maxiscan, whilst working for Peter's +8, doesn't work on mine. However a good drive down the A31 and a fine breakfast - so it wasn't all bad.
I still need to find a reader that will work.

I have a different model for Apple iOS devices. Let me look it out. I am not so far from Peter, excuse for a run out if you want.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Hi I use an ODB reader such as: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ELM327-WiFi-OBD2-Car-Diagnostics-Scanner-Code-Reader-for-Mobile-iOS-AND-Android/123088104354?epid=7002503384&hash=item1ca89f6ba2:g:w5AAAOSwX0Fa1w0I which links by Bluetooth to ODB Fusion software which is available for both Android and IOS. Total cost <£20. This has worked well for me in clearing the yellow warning light on the Aeromax. Hope this works for you. Regards Malcolm
