Thanks for the link Tim. Nigel and I have had off-list comms over this one and I forget the instructions are on TM-IMG - can never find them again on here, though I know Ian W is good at that smile
The Scott looks stunning and the John Deeres as if they'd just rolled off the production line thumbs They're a little bigger than your Ferrari.

The Deere’s are rolling projects but complete & tidy, the Scott is only just back on road since 60’s & I’m still trying to master the right turn with hand gear change, it’s the proverbial rubbing tummy & patting head.

THE FINAL CHAPTER:

So we have discussed the topic at great length.

These are my findings:

1) I wrapped the manifold and down pipes with 58' of exhaust wrap..this went a long way to diminish the inflow of hydrocarbons into the cockpit with the roof off.

2) Today I spent 2 hours with a very clever fabricator in Leeds who removed the original rear pipe and replaced it with a 90 degree stainless steel rolled tip outlet.

This juts out into the airstream just infront of the rear wheel and hey presto no more fumes in the cockpit.

Check out the second picture to see how he angled the pipe.

It gives a much deeper exhaust note without being annoying..also for some reason I can get it to pop and bang at will !!!

Nice job ...well pleased and can easily be put back to oe if required.

I'll pipe down now...I'm exhausted with this topic!!!

nice mod. Kev. ;looks good and I bet it sounds even better thumbs

I've noticed in the Aero that when the roads are a little damp the rear view mirror and the inside of the windscreen get really mucky.

It must be some kind of vortex effect; I know Peter J. has similar problems with his.

Anyway,as above, the Almond Tart is looking very tasty..... notworthy

Indeed it is, young Mr F..

Proper job..!

This vortex effect has a lot to answer for & gets the interior all mucky, including the screen, mirror and occupants in mucky road weather..

There's no doubt the less-than-hot-cat syndrome adds to the fumes, but you seem to have cracked it with a real belt n braces approach.

Nice one..

On the Aero S2 soft top you can see dirt lines on the inside of the hood where the dirt and rain runs (as you still have the top down). I use the big VAX house carpet cleaner on it once a year or if it has a really bad trip. I did think about using some of the shoe water repellent spray on it as well.

I seem to have solved my issue with the standard tail pipe cut off and a 120 degree bend is stainless steel slipped over and cocked over to the 2 o clock position as viewed from the rear.
