Hi enlightened ones! Just sailed through mot again (hurrah!) but advisory that offside lower ball joint gaiter is damaged and starting to split. Car is an S3 2007. I have heard these are not easy to get or that the gaiter is not available separately, so a bit unclear what to do. Anyone have this issue and can enlighten me regarding best way forward...?

You can buy them from most major rose joint suppliers, you will have to measure the joint first to get the right size.

You can buy the rod end ones, not the ball joint boots To the best of my knowledge the S2 thru S4 cars use different ball joints to the S1 so I don’t know where to source new boots I can make them/get them made, but I’ll need an original as a pattern Simon @ SiFab.co.uk

I have the same problem with the lower rose joint gaiters cracked. The nut on the lower rose joint is removed, but I cannot get the rose joint stud out of the lower wishbone.I have the stud already soaked in oil for a night but that does not help.I cannot think it is a screw in fitting,or a tapered fitting.Any idea’s before using violence? The same for the upper rose joint stud,I cannot get it out of the hub housing after removal of the nut. All thoughts are welcome. Rudolf
Edit;obviously this is on Tango,an Aero8 s4

Ah yes, I’ve heard of them. Surely they’d be able to supply the correct joints/boots? Simon
