Here lies the body of a Morgan owner that could no longer suffer the igmany of having stupidly reversed out of his garage in a hurry to get out for the day in the sunshine and escape his eldest sons friends before they descend in numbers with their cars clogging up the driveway, scraped his offside front wing on a brick wall  Sorry Guys i have to giggle...your little misaps give me living you see

sorry to hear of your mishap Stewart - but it looks as if a 'fix' is well underway.  A couple of nights ago I was locking up the house for the night and went into the garage to pat the car goodnight, sorry, I meant that I was checking everything was locked up tight  The lights came on and one of the two 150 watt bulbs (I have been stockpiling them since they were outlawed...) exploded with truly frightening force.It was akin to a hand grenade going off (well almost !). Sadly, this was the bulb directly over the Aero bonnet and o/s wing - cue lots of broken glass and numerous scratches in the paint.  I have spent the last couple of days with a D/A polisher and various compounds trying to remove the worst of them  James

Oh no James! You haven’t damaged that gorgeous Aero? Hope repairs go well.
Stewart, I thought you had damaged the car! Only a little scratch eh. Should polish out ok.
I took my old 95 plus 8 to the Factory 3 weeks ago in a racebox. On arrival the straps had loosened and the car had slid forwards, in gear and handbrake on, and hit the front bodywork of the trailer damaging both wings. About £700 to repair. I wasn’t happy.......

The photos don’t quite show how bad it was but basically it took all the paint off and was down to the ali in a area about 65mm x 20mm

I managed to scratch the rear wing on both the +4 and the present 4/4 on my neighbour's driveway. In both cases within a month of buying the cars. I also managed to put a dent in the top of the +4's rear wing when a Nikon F3 complete with 35-105mm lens slipped off my shoulder (from days when cameras and lenses were solidly built). It was hardly noticeable, but I knew it was there.

It’s still raw to this day, at 17, my first car was an Audi coupe in 1986, I bought it cheap from my wealthy uncle, but he had neglected it.
All the tatty bits had been put right with loving care, finally to service the engine, all done bar the air filter (which wasn’t really needing done).
I went to the motor factors, put the bonnet up on its stay, removed the filter to take in and show them.
To my horror, when I’d returned, the wind had lifted the bonnet out of the stay and slammed it shut on the air intake box which was on top of the engine.
A huge, upward dent stayed there the whole time I owned that car.
I’m never comfortable leaving bonnets on stays now, even in the garage!

Beginners effort Stewart.  My late father got into his brand new car parked on the drive after shutting up the garage. Hid first auto, lput it into reverse gear,, twisted a bit to look over his shoulder and applied accelerator. The car lept forwards, there was a loud crash and we found him sat in his car on his garage but on top of the garage doors My wife reversed her own car out of the garage and was so busy telling me to do something whilst she was out that she reversed into the family car. It was of course entirely my fault made worse by hysterical laughter You have my sympathy.
