Another gentle drive around some East Devon lanes earlier today.
I had to join the main road for a mile or so ( to get some fuel); the roads to the coast are rammed!
Good moment at the petrol station though. A nice, nearly new Mercedes 4 seat convertible pulled in, hood down.
A van driver returning to his vehicle commented to the MB driver; “nice car mate” but then added, pointing at my 4/4 added “ but that’s what I call a proper car”.
Made me smile.

A lovely day with blue bells out in the woods.

Hopefully on the 9th I will be driving the car to our new home in Suffolk.

Went out early to do some shopping for BBQ essentials..

Sitting in the car park outside the Southampton Road Majestic a Mog drove past in the direction of Salisbury and as I drove home another on came the same way...this one I recognised as it is owned by a LogMog member!

Have to say the Plus 8 isn't the best shopping car...

Teignmouth this morning for a toasted ham & cheese sandwich.
Totnes for the Quirky Open Air Market (QOAM) yesterday.
Oviedo to Exeter using Brittany Ferry on Wednesday-Thursday, after three weeks in Spain.
About 1850 miles in all.

Tomorrow we are departing Wellings Towers at around 06.30 for a leisurely drive through Tickhill and Bawtry then down to Barnby Moor, Retford, and Clumber Park, where we will drive down the main drag, before returning home before the unwashed get up.
ETA at Clumber Park will be about 7.15.

I'm not suggesting a convoy, because I prefer solo journeys, but if you're on the route we might meet up...............

Back home for breakfast before 09.00, all being well!

Yes nice 35 miles home to Halwell Totnes Paignton Kingswear Higher Ferry Dartmouth and home where the BMAD Festival is on in Paignton that is, they raise loads of money during the year for charities. http://www.bmad.co.uk/festival/.

The objectives of BMAD (Bikers Make a Difference) are to raise money for public benefit in providing funding to sick, disabled and disadvantaged young people up to the age of 19 in the TQ area; and other charities that also provide services to the local TQ communities which directly or indirectly benefit young people.

Examples of charities we have supported because of the services they provide locally are: Devon Freewheelers (Blood Bikes), St. John Ambulance, Torbay Young Carers and Devon Air Ambulance.
So lots of nice bikes and trikes on the road.

Passed and waved to Red MGB and a yellow MG Midget, and saw my first Evoque Skip what an ugly thing with it's lid off it is.

Up to Kielder Castle then up to Hawich, some gloriously empty roads with some gloriously blue skies. Friends from my other car club taken out on various stages very impressed by the handling and more than impressed by the squadron scramble style pulling away from junctions accompanied by the wonderful sound track the pipes provide. That first gear does have its uses wink

Had to take one of our cars to Ipswich ahead of moving plus the garden pot plants & leave them at our daughters place. So only tin top driving on Sat & Sun. But off today for a nostalgic trip around the area before driving to Trimley on Wed.
