Worst case scenario - there are 5 Premier Inns within 30 miles of Coningsby. Wouldn't be my first choice, but they have the advantage of decent parking and plenty of rooms.

I'll be on an overnighter too ('cos I can..) so that's four..! Nice car parking is on the list.. I'll ring the BBMF in the morning & ask a few questions, and we can start a list going. It's shaping up nicely. I hope you can get time off work, G..

Just as a list of other things you might want to consider. Nice pub in local region. http://www.bluebell-inn.com/features/ Thorpe Road, Tattershall Thorpe, Lincolnshire, LN4 4PE Just Jane our second Lancaster is not so far if you want to add to the overnight stay. Also since mid last year the Mosquito HJ711 is at this location. This also has a good collection of the ground support vehicles for those of you that like heavy machinery. http://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/ East Kirkby, Spilsby PE23 4DE If you like castles and monuments then Tattershall Castle is beautiful. https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/tattershall-castle# Petwood Hotel (the one used for the films etc. and 617 Sqdns old HQ) Stixwould Road, Woodhall Spa LN10 6QG, England This is quite large and so can take a good number of people. Depending on date, would hope to join you. But with only 48 miles to travel to Scampton, I will travel on the day. 2 other sites to consider on the day: The Internationl Bomber Command Centre officially opened in April and is on the southern edge of Lincoln: https://internationalbcc.co.ukAnd on the edge of Newark, Newark Air Museum: http://www.newarkairmuseum.orgRe East Kirby (home of Just Jane) - please don’t underestimate how long it takes to see everything - the hangar is a wonderful experience with the Lancaster, Mosquito and a Dakota. The vehicle collection is interesting too. They also have a number of additional buildings that you can visit including a display dedicated to aircrew escaping from occupied territory and the control tower fitted out as in period. Our first visit took 4 hours - been back twice since and looking for time to go again. I should declare an interest - I have a membership cart in my wallet. The cafe is good. If you happen to visit on a day when the Lancaster taxis, the photo opportunities are wonderful. They allowed DonMog to line up in front of Just Jane for photographs.
