My 4/4 was in the MMC warranty bay last week.
" could you fit a Radio Aerial whilst it's with you .." I asked.
" sure no probs...its £10 for the part and £120 to fit it".
For some reason I came over all DIY. After all it's " only " drilling three holes !!!
On return to base my confidence plummeted !
SWMBO shook the blond locks in horror. Telling me that the £120 would have been well worth it!
However the very helpful Dave in Warranty had marked where to place the dreaded drill bits.
Off we go. Did the easy two first. Confidence rose a tad - and no going back now!
Onto the big challenge. The whopping hole for the aerial wire! Well it sure seems whopping with the drill in hand!
All the what ifs raced though my mind. The voice of self doubt became a shout of No!
So taking my time and with lots of masking tape the drilling took place.
Success! And now a Radio which works ...well as a Radio!
A tad of Underseal from my neighbours MG box of bits. Captain Tollys creeping crack cure and a tad of black silicon sealant and the job is complete.
Saved £120 I told SWMBO. Well done she said the drinks are on you!
