The sump is a good mod. The first Mog +4 I had with the TR engine had a low sump pan. I holed it on the front gate stop and dumped all the oil on the driveway.
I also scratched up our motorhome last week, backing into the driveway. I hit the mailbox for the third time............

Repair is slow

I’ve realised my method of building up the paint wasn’t the best so I’ve sanded back and I’m preparing for some high build primer

Why dont you get chips away to look at it Stewart?

Its very difficult to get a good diy finish.

I’m detirmined to have a go at it myself - it’s all a learning curve

I took a ‘brass rubbing’ of the area and masked the area and have got several layers of high build primer on it

Stuart, you have my sympathy.. I backed the red 4/4 into the garage late one evening & scraped the rear wing on the brickwork.

Have to say I admire the way you're having a bash at some repair work yourself, after all if you have to pay someone to fix it professionally, you may as well have a play first.

I'm probably wrong, but shouldn't you feather the edges of the paint before you apply the primer..? It just appears that you'll be hard pushed to get that ridge edge down.

I did with some sandpaper and then made my mask about 1mm larger than the area all around

Pleased with the high build primer

Now to sand down and smooth out
